Cox & Kings teams up with Berlin Tourism to promote MICE tourism

Mumbai, 2nd November 2012 - Cox & Kings Ltd, the oldest established travel company in the world since 1858, has teamed up with Berlin Tourism to promote Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibition (MICE), Tourism to the Indian corporate sector.

A two-city road show in Delhi and Mumbai was organized this week wherein corporate decision makers were invited to see for themselves the various attractions that Berlin had to offer and to encourage them to choose Berlin for their forthcoming incentives movements.

According to Ajay Seth, Vice President Outbound MICE, Cox & Kings Ltd, “Berlin as a destination is diverse with its range of offering from world famous museums to avante-garde galleries and has state-of-the-art MICE facilities making it an attractive destination for outbound MICE.

Indian outbound MICE movements have been growing at a steady pace and Indian companies are exploring new destinations that have a recall value and at the same time provide them with unique visitor opportunities.

Berlin is one such destination. It is well connected from India and stands at a vantage point in Europe with large air connectivity from various points in Europe.

  • Brandenburg Gate: Berlin’s most famous landmark. After the Wall fell, this monument came to symbolize Germany’s reunification. The gate is one of the finest examples of Germany’s neo-classicist architecture.
  • East Side Gallery: The East Side Gallery stretches 1.3 kms along the river Spree—both the longest surviving section of the Berlin Wall and the world’s longest open air gallery. The wall is decorated with Graffiti art and paintings by 118 international artists from 21 countries.

In the recent past, locations such as the Paul Lobe House, Berlin Cathedral, Alexanderplatz, the Berlin TV Tower at a height of 368 metres & the highest building tower in Germany and the Gendarmenmarkt with the French Cathedral were made famous by the Indian film, Don 2, starring Shah Rukh Khan
