Cox and Kings Ltd results for Q3FY14

Mumbai, 14th February 2014: Cox & Kings Ltd. the leading holidays and education travel group having operations in 26 countries across continents today announced its financial results for the quarter ended December 31st, 2013.

Q3FY14 Highlights:
Consolidated
  • Net Sales improved by 15% to Rs.408 crore in Q3FY14 as against Rs 357 crore in the corresponding period last year
  • EBITDA (excl. forex gain/loss) stood at Rs. 105 crore up by 120% (y-o-y) as compared to Rs. 48 crore in Q3FY13
  • Net profit grew by 826% to Rs. 31 crore as against Rs. 3 crore in the corresponding period last year
  • EPS for the period is at Rs. 2.26 as against Rs.0.24 in the Q3FY13


Standalone
  • Net Sales improved by 14% to Rs. 95 crore as against Rs 84 crore in Q3FY13
  • EBITDA (excl. forex gain/loss) for the quarter stood at Rs. 43 crore up by 16% compared to Rs.37 crore in the corresponding period last year.
  • PAT stood at Rs. 23 crore up by 68% as compared to Rs.14 crore in Q3FY13
9mFY14 Highlights:

Consolidated
  • Net Sales improved by 15% to Rs.1813 crore in 9mFY14 as against Rs 1578 crore in the corresponding period last year
  • EBITDA (excl. forex gain/loss) stood at Rs. 836 crore up by 24% (y-o-y) as compared to Rs. 675 crore in 9mFY13
  • Net profit grew by 44% to Rs. 429 crore as against Rs.298 crore in the corresponding period last year
Standalone
  • Net Sales improved by 13% to Rs. 326 crore as against Rs 287 crore in 9mFY13
  • EBITDA (excl. forex gain/loss) for the quarter stood at Rs. 171 crore up by 16% as compared to Rs.147 crore in the corresponding period last year
  • PAT stood at Rs. 105 crore as against Rs.46 crore in9mFY13

Management Comments:

Mr Peter Kerkar, Director, Cox and Kings Ltd said, ``our results indicate that we have outperformed for the nine-month period over last year. The GDP of UK and Ireland is expected to grow by over two  per cent in the next one year and this will benefit all our international operations.’’

He further adds, “During the quarter, we have added new capacity of 802 beds at Meininger in Amsterdam. Also, we are very excited to share that our education brand PGL has purchased 200 acres in Australia and we plan to open our first centre in Australia in the coming months. We anticipate a strong pickup in demand for travel sector in coming quarters from the international as well as domestic markets.”

  • Superbreak, a subsidiary of Cox & Kings’ Holidaybreak Ltd, the European Education and Leisure specialist group, has won two awards from UK’s well known travel magazine, Travel Weekly:
