DAY 01    |    

Arrive Johannesburg

Welcome to your 'Cox & Kings - South African Sojourn' tour!

On arrival in Johannesburg, your Cox & Kings representative will greet you at the "meeting point" at the exit. After immigration and customs, transfer comfortably to the hotel (check-in after 1500 hours).

In the evening, proceed for a panoramic orientation tour of Johannesburg. Visit Gandhi Square where Gandhiji had his office, Elise Park Stadium, Nelson Mandela Square and Hillbrow Tower.

Johannesburg - Sun City

Today, post breakfast proceed to Sun City and check-in to your hotel.

The rest of the day is at leisure. Sun City offers a myriad of different entertainment and relaxation opportunities as well as enough attractions and activities to keep everyone busy. While at Sun City, you have a chance to enjoy various activities on offer (at your expense) such as visit to the Casino, bird aviary, archery, jet ski, parasailing, motor boats etc. You can also visit Valley of Waves.

Note: Valley of the Waves will be closed from May - August 2018. The exact dates are still to be advised.

Sun City's world-class water park boasts of activities for all kinds of water fun as per time at hand. Take a helicopter ride over Sun City (at supplement cost) and see the magical man-made wonder from the sky.

Sun City - Knysna

Early in the morning, proceed to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve for a game drive to view animals up close in their wild surroundings.

After breakfast, check-out and depart to the airport in Johannesburg for your flight to George.

On arrival at George, proceed to your conveniently located hotel in Knysna and check-in.

Later, embark on a scenic sunset cruise.

After breakfast at the hotel, head to Oudtshoorn, which is set in a semi-arid valley. Drive through the Wine lands along the Breede River to Oudtshoorn - 'the Feather Capital of the World'. Visit the famous Cango Caves, where the stalactite and stalagmite formations are an incredible sight.

Later, proceed to the Ostrich Farm where you can enjoy shows performed by well-trained birds. You also have a chance to ride this magnificent bird and try your luck at breaking an ostrich egg, which is an impossible task. Thereafter, drive to 'Cheetah Ranch', where you can marvel at the grace and beauty of the world's fastest animal. Lastly, experience Crocodile Enclosure.

Knysna - Cape Town

Today, depart to Cape Town. En route, stop at Mossel Bay, a harbour town where you visit the Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex which is the largest of the museums in Mossel Bay.

Later, visit Post Office Tree - A post box in the shape of an old boot has now been erected under the tree which was declared a national heritage site.

Continue your scenic journey to Cape Town. On arrival, transfer to the hotel (check-in time is 1400 hours).

Today, proceed on an exciting sightseeing tour of this beautiful city with its majestic Table Mountain backdrop. Enjoy a scenic view at the top of Table Mountain Cable Car 3600 (weather permitting) for a panoramic view of the city and coastline. Then, visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Later, see the famous Victoria and the Alfred Waterfront, one of Cape Town's biggest tourist attractions where you will also explore the Two Oceans Aquarium. Then, drive past Green Market Square, District Six and company gardens, Houses of the Parliament, the City Hall, the Castle and Slave Lodge.

The rest of the day is at leisure for individual activities.

Drive via the Ou Kaapse Weg and the Atlantic Coast to Cape Point. Here, the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean are said to meet. Marvel at the view from the southernmost tip of South Africa.

Then, enjoy a cruise to Hout Bay to the Seal Colony (weather permitting). Return along the False Bay Coast visiting the Jackass penguins at Boulders Beach. Afterwards, enjoy a short stop at the Simon's Town. This scenic town is also an important naval base.

  • Any increase in the airfare / taxes / routing charged by the airlines on air ticket (presently calculated as on 1st August 2018).
  • Airline / Hotel surcharges (if applicable) during high / festive season, trade fairs, exhibitions, conventions, special events etc. to be paid extra per person.
  • Porterage at hotels, airports , laundry, wines, mineral water, telephone charges, items of personal nature, food and drinks not forming part of the touring group's menu.
  • Anything not specifically mentioned under inclusions.
  • Cost of extension of validity or deviation of your air ticket.
  • Cost of US$ 2,50,000 granted by Reserve Bank of India under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme.
  • Any increase in rate of ZAR (presently calculated at 1 ZAR = INR 5.5 leading to an increase in tour cost coming into effect prior to departure. However, the rate prevailing on given day of payment will apply.
