We start the day with a visit to, unarguably, the most iconic structure in Paris...the Eiffel Tower (up to 3rd Level). And for anyone who ever wondered what about the tower earned it such popularity, you'll get your answer the moment this gigantic structure faces you. While the tower, in all its magnanimity, itself is an utterly beautiful sight, the panoramic city views that it allows are just as splendid.

After a hot lunch, another fascinating visit on our schedule today is to the Fragonard Perfumery which attracts both, amateurs and perfume connoisseurs, with its interesting line-up of displays, a collection of fragrances that boasts of the grand history Fragonard perfumes, an informative workshop on the art of perfume-making, try on a few samples at the exit boutique and, of course, buying a few too.

Next, we waste no time and begin our guided city tour observing all the landmarks of the town such as the gargoyled Notre Dame Cathedral (a French architectural masterpiece), the Louvre Museum (world's largest museum), Champs Elysees Avenue (the world's most beautiful avenue), the Musee d'Orsay (a railway station-converted museum), Hotel des Invalids, the Alexander bridge and a lot more.

Then, proceed for dinner at an Indian restaurant before heading back to the hotel.

DAY 07    |

Leysin

After breakfast today, we begin our first icy excursion as we head to the winter white wonderland that is the Glacier 3000. Apart from the incredibly spectacular views of snow-laced peaks all around, Glacier 3000 also offers a wide array of activities to keep even the most fidgety traveller entertained. From enjoying the winter views during the cable-car ride to and from Les Diablerets to skiing and hiking to the thrilling snow-bus ride to that of the Peak Walk on the world's only suspension bridge connecting two peaks, there's something for everybody here. And because nothing brings more warmth to our minds and bodies than a steamy meal, we enjoy a delicious lunch at Glacier 3000 before heading back to Les Diablerets.

Then, continue to journey through the blissful natural beauty the Swiss lands have to offer via the Golden Pass train ride. Designed to give tourists an eyeful of the much-talked-about natural landscapes of Switzerland, this train journey begins at Zweisimmen and takes us to Montreux allowing some of the most scenic scenes in all of Swiss. Here, we take some leisure time to stroll along the Montreux's Lakeside promenade.

Next on our list of Swiss adventures is a visit to the beautiful town of Vevey on the banks of Lake Geneva. With extraordinary views of the Alpines and the vast expense of sparkling blue waters, every corner of the town seems to make for a photogenic backdrop. It was in this town that Charlie Chaplin spent the last 25 years of his life. Facing the lake stands a tributary statue of the comedian. We take a photo stop here enjoying the beauty around us.

Concluding our day, we make way to Leysin for a sumptuous dinner and sleep tight for the rest of the night.

We move on to our ice excursion here on with a walk on the great Aletsch Glacier (the longest ice stream in the Alps), a visit to the glistening Ice Palace, a visit to the Sphinx Observation Terrace (the loftiest point of all) and more.

After the ice-cold adventure, we descend to something more soothing and far more green, the city of Interlaken, which, as the name suggests, is cradled cozily between the beautiful lakes of Brienz and Thun. Here is where you receive your first retail therapy while enjoying the marvels of Swiss shopping at a market that boasts as much of pocket-friendly souvenirs as that of high-end watches and jewellery.

We head to an Indian restaurant for dinner, before checking in at the hotel to relax and re-energise ourselves for the next day.

DAY 09    |

Lungern

Today, after breakfast, continue to journey through the blissful natural beauty the Swiss lands have to offer to reach a city that perfectly fits the bill for a cliched romantic Swiss destination. Enter: Lucerne! With no time to waste, we start off our orientation tour exploring the picturesque mountains, lakes, cowbells, alpine villages and meadows, the poignant Lion Monument, the covered, wooden Kapellbrucke (chapel bridge) and more. Bringing some relief to the compulsive shopper, we also spend some time here shopping for and loading ourselves with Swiss souvenirs.

Admire the panoramic stretches of meadows and mountains and fields and rivers to keep our minds and bodies refreshed as we take a short drive to Germany making a pit stop in the Black Forest where we get to witness a demonstration of traditional German Cuckoo clock.

We then grab our lunch and move back to Switzerland along the picturesque road with the mountainous forest as a backdrop and arrive at the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe. Though the fall might appear stunted at 23 meters, as compared to other higher waterfalls in Switzerland, the magnanimity and might of the Rhine is palpable from the sheer force with which it paves its way through the rocks.

Bringing our day to a close, we head back to our hotel and enjoy a sumptuous meal before going to bed.

DAY 10    |

Lungern - Innsbruck

Today, we wave goodbye to Switzerland and take our expedition further to yet another country that's effortlessly balanced between architectural marvels and natural landscapes, Austria, making a couple of pit stops on the way. The first of these pit stops happens to be at Vaduz in Liechtenstein, a tiny town offering ample visual beauty with its backdrop of mountains and the Rhine River. Also enjoy a Mini Train ride at Vaduz.

Next up on the list is the Austrian town of crystals Wattens. Here, we embark upon what's truly the most dazzling experience of our life as we visit the renowned museum, Swarovski Crystal Worlds. While the giant head, or simply The Giant, with water pouring out of its mouth is what pops in our heads when talking about the crystal museum, what greets us inside the Chambers of Wonder is a whole new world of sparkling crystals of varied sizes ranging from the smallest to the largest in the world. These twinkling stones are grouped together to make 16 distinct artistic installations, each designed by a different artist and each with the capability of leaving us in a stunned silence.

A short drive further is our next and final stop for the day, the city of Innsbruck where we begin with the orientation tour without wasting any time upon arrival. Settled in the heart of the Austrian Alps, the mountains make for a dramatic backdrop for the city while the pastel-hued houses lining the banks of the green-watered River Inn add to the city's aesthetic beauty. After having taken in our share of the surrounding natural beauty, we continue our tour wandering past The Golden Roof or the Goldenes Dachl- an ornate Gothic balcony erected by Emperor Maximilian I in the 15th century, the Imperial Church and the Hofburg or the Imperial Palace.

We then check-in to our hotel, stuff ourselves with a delicious dinner and hit the bed!

DAY 11    |

Innsbruck - Vienna

Today, we head to yet another town in Austria that's likely to leave you speechless with its bewildering beauty. Enter: Salzburg. One of the most romantic towns as it is, Salzburg owes its popularity as much to its dreamy setup with the Bavarian Alps as a backdrop, the Salzach River running right through it and some of the most well-preserved medieval structures as it does to the 'Sounds of Music' movie. Being the birthplace of the classical composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the town contributed several filming sets for the movie making them all major tourist attractions.

We munch on a sumptuous breakfast and proceed to Salzburg where begins our exploring excursion of this picturesque town including Mirabell Gardens, Mondsee cathedral, Altstadt Salzburg (the beautiful Old Town), etc.

After lunch, proceed to Vienna. Our drive from Salzburg to Vienna, by far, offers the most beautiful views of mighty mountains and lovely lakes and fairytale towns. On arrival in Vienna, head straight to the restaurant for dinner and then check-in to the hotel for the night.

DAY 12    |

Homeward Bound

We are nearing the end of our tour and we still have some sightseeing to do. After breakfast today, we kick-off our guided city tour of Vienna, the last town on the list. Boasting of great Baroque architectural masterpieces (opulent streetscapes and extravagant palaces), the city is a hub of cultural treasures that are both, awe-inspiring and overwhelming at the same time. Our next stop is at Prater Wheel...

Vienna's Giant Ferris Wheel offers unparalleled views over the city, and has done since the turn of the century in 1900. As one of the city's most iconic landmarks, it is a traditional moving monument of the city's skyline. A promised panoramic adventure, take to the skies and learn about Vienna from all angles.

After this rich historic trip, head to a restaurant to feast on a yummy lunch. To end our Vienna tour on a lighter note, we take some leisure time at the Karntner Strasse taking in the feel of the city and also indulging in some splurge and grabbing a few souvenirs.

As much as we'd hate it, all good things must come to an end eventually and so did this 'Cox & Kings - Gaurav Yatra - European Masti' tour. With our gifts and shopping bags neatly tucked into our luggage and our passports and tickets handy, we set out for the airport to board our flight back home.

Please do give us your valuable feedback on feedback@coxandkings.com.

Next up on the list is the Austrian town of crystals? Wattens.
