DAY 03    |

London - Ferry embarkation

Today we check out of our hotel post breakfast and head towards yet another attraction of the city, the London Eye- the iconic ride on River Thames that gives you a splendid bird's-eye view of London's South Bank and various landmarks of the city including the Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, etc.

We then grab a quick lunch and head on to the Oxford Street because, obviously, our trip to London would be incomplete without a shopping excursion at England's hottest shopping street. With the street well explored and pockets considerably lighter, we bid adieu to this beautiful city and head to Harwich where begins our journey's next phase as we board a ferry to the Netherlands.

Enjoying a mouth-watering spread of dinner, a comfortable accommodation and the magnanimity of endless water, we spend the night onboard the ferry.

Overnight on board the ferry.

Breakfast at the hotel, lunch at Indian restaurant and continental dinner on board the ferry

DAY 04    |

Ferry disembarkation - Eindhoven

After enjoying yet another meal on water, aka, a lavish breakfast, check-out of the ferry, clear immigration and head straight to our first sightseeing spot of the day the very beautiful Keukenhof Garden in Lisse. Planted over an expanse of 79 acres, the garden is a colourful sea of 800 varieties of Tulips and other spring flowers. Interspersed between these floral fields are other beautifying attractions including canals, a windmill, artistic floral displays and flower shows among others. However, this rejuvenating ocean of flowers is only accessible from mid-March to mid-May.

Alternatively, in months when the Keukenhof Garden is off limits, make a visit to another equally beautiful yet strikingly unique park the Madurodam Miniature Park. As can easily be guessed from the name itself, the park houses miniature versions of several Dutch architectural landmarks, traditional Dutch houses, canals, parks, windmills, verdant fields and a lot more. What brings this miniature park to life is the addition of human figures that not only give character to this miniature world but also depicts the evolution of Dutch lifestyle over the years. From here we head to the capital to keep up with our Amsterdam schedule.

In striking contrast to the town's busy life, on the outskirts of Amsterdam, is a peaceful and scenic Cheese Farm and Clog Factory which we then make a visit to, to learn about the art of traditional cheese-making and also about the famous Dutch clogs.

Drive along the scenic scenes of Netherlands to arrive in Amsterdam where a delicious Indian lunch awaits us.

Picturesque beauty isn't all there is to this buzzing town, so we head to one of the busiest town centres, the Dam Square or simply The Dam. From memorable monuments and statues to souvenir shops and restaurants to that of scores of pigeons and buskers, The Dam is a true reflection of the city's character.

We then embark upon a canal cruise in a glass-topped boat that glides us past regal mansions, houseboats, bridges and a lot more giving us an eyeful of this colour and culture-rich picturesque town.

Thereafter, head towards Eindhoven to check-in to the hotel for the night after a sumptuous dinner.

Overnight in Eindhoven.

DAY 05    |

Eindhoven - Brussels

After breakfast, bid adieu to The Netherlands and embrace ourselves to be inspired by the scenic natural scapes and cityscapes of Germany. First stop: Cologne! Here, head straight for the building that dominates the skyline of this German Town the Cologne Cathedral, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Though the intrinsic architectural beauty and its magnanimity are the striking characteristics of this Gothic structure, there's something far more impressive about it than just the architectural brilliance. So the Cathedral was built in parts over 7 centuries (started in 1248 and completed in 1880). Naturally, then it shifted builders throughout its construction. And yet the Cathedral stands in complete aesthetic harmony unifying the distinct flavours of every builder and every century. We take some time here to absorb in all the artistic masterpieces the Cathedral has to offer before heading out for lunch at an Indian restaurant.

After lunch, leave for Belgium and make our way to its capital, Brussels. We arrive at the Atomium, the single most unique Belgian structure. Originally built in 1958 for the Brussels' World Fair, the structure was retained, thanks to its architectural brilliance. Essentially, The Atomium is a giant iron crystal magnified 165 billion times its actual size. Accordingly, the structure consists of 9 spheres and 22 pipes arranged to represent the atoms in an iron crystal.

Next, stop at the Grand Place in Brussels and begin an orientation tour immediately after lunch. The Grand Place, as is commonly known, is Europe's most beautiful and buzzing square. This exquisite market square is the main tourist attraction of the city that has often left sightseers awestruck, thanks to the historic architectural marvels from the eras of Baroque, Gothic and Louis XIV that give the place and eclectic character. Visit Mannekin Pis, one of the famous statue and fountain, a mascot and the hero of many incredible tales.

Later, proceed to a restaurant for dinner and then head to the hotel in Brussels.

After breakfast today, we begin our first icy excursion as we head to the winter white wonderland that is the Glacier 3000. Apart from the incredibly spectacular views of snow-laced peaks all around, Glacier 3000 also offers a wide array of activities to keep even the most fidgety traveller entertained. From enjoying the winter views during the cable-car ride to and from Les Diablerets to skiing and hiking to the thrilling snow-bus ride to that of the Peak Walk on the world's only suspension bridge connecting two peaks, there's something for everybody here. And because nothing brings more warmth to our minds and bodies than a steamy meal, we enjoy a delicious lunch at Glacier 3000 before heading back to Les Diablerets.

Then, continue to journey through the blissful natural beauty the Swiss lands have to offer via the Golden Pass Train Ride. Designed to give tourists an eyeful of the much-talked-about natural landscapes of Switzerland, this train journey begins at Zweisimmen and takes us to Montreux allowing some of the most scenic scenes in all of Swiss. Here, we take some free time to stroll along the Montreux's Lakeside promenade.

Next on our list of Swiss adventures is a visit to the beautiful town of Vevey on the banks of Lake Geneva. With extraordinary views of the Alpines and the vast expense of sparkling blue waters, every corner of the town seems to make for a photogenic backdrop. It was in this town that Charlie Chaplin spent the last 25 years of his life. Facing the lake stands a tributary statue of the comedian. We take a photo stop here enjoying the beauty around us.

Concluding our day, proceed to an Indian restaurant and then return to the hotel.

DAY 11    |

Leysin - Lungern

Today, after breakfast, check-out and embark on the tour of top of Europe, with the exciting trip to the winter wonderland, Jungfraujoch.

What makes this eternal ice-land a quintessential Swiss travel destination is the fact that the enthralling experience begins from the moment you board the cogwheel train which ascends you to Europe's highest station, Jungfraujoch (at 3454m), with breathtaking views of bright ice and dark tunnels. Awaiting us on the other side of this exhilarating and cold journey to the top is a lineup of activities. But before that, let's just curb that hunger with a piping hot Indian lunch.

We move on to our ice excursion here on with a walk on the great Aletsch Glacier (the longest ice stream in the Alps), a visit to the glistening Ice Palace, a visit to the Sphinx Observation Terrace (the loftiest point of all) and more.

After the ice-cold adventure, descend to something more soothing and far greener, the city of Interlaken, which, as the name suggests, is cradled cozily between the beautiful lakes of Brienz and Thun. Here is where you receive your first retail therapy while enjoying the marvels of Swiss shopping at a market that boasts as much of pocket-friendly souvenirs as that of high-end watches and jewellery.

Then, head to an Indian restaurant for dinner, before checking in at the hotel to relax and re-energise ourselves for the next day.

DAY 12    |

Lungern

Today after breakfast, continue to journey through the blissful natural beauty the Swiss lands have to offer to reach a city that perfectly fits the bill for a cliched romantic Swiss destination. Enter: Lucerne! With no time to waste, we start off our orientation tour exploring the picturesque mountains, lakes, cowbells, alpine villages and meadows, the poignant Lion Monument, the covered, wooden Kapellbrucke (chapel bridge) and more. Bringing some relief to the compulsive shopper, we also spend some time here shopping for and loading ourselves with Swiss souvenirs.

Next, drive towards the Black forest - Drubba, admire the panoramic stretches of meadows and mountains and fields and rivers to keep our minds and bodies refreshed. Arrive at Black Forest where we get to witness a demonstration of traditional German Cuckoo clock.

Drive towards Schaffhausen for a photo-stop at Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe. Though the fall might appear stunted at 23 meters, as compared to other higher waterfalls in Switzerland, the magnanimity and might of the Rhine is palpable from the sheer force with which it paves its way through the rocks.

Bringing our day to a close, head back to the hotel and enjoy a sumptuous meal before going to bed.

DAY 13    |

Lungern - Innsbruck

Today, after breakfast, we wave goodbye to Switzerland and take our expedition further to yet another country that's effortlessly balanced between architectural marvels and natural landscapes Austria. But first, we must visit the Liechtenstein capital, Vaduz. With a backdrop of mountains and the Rhine River, Vaduz is a tiny town that offers ample visual beauty. The car-free town with its tasteful blend of modern, Gothic and Baroque architectural structures and a crown-like castle on the peak overlooking the town, Vaduz is stunning in every aspect. We take some time to explore this beautiful town, have a sumptuous lunch and proceed to our next destination....Wattens, Austria.

Here we embark upon what's truly the most dazzling experience of our life as we visit the renowned museum, Swarovski Crystal Worlds. While the giant head, or simply The Giant, with water pouring out of its mouth is what pops in our heads when talking about the crystal museum, what greets us inside the Chambers of Wonder is a whole new world of sparkling crystals of varied sizes ranging from the smallest to the largest in the world. These twinkling stones are grouped together to make 16 distinct artistic installations, each designed by a different artist and each with the capability of leaving us in a stunned silence. Our sparkly tour ends at the Swarovski showroom where you can bag a few of these shining gems.

A short drive further is our next and final stop for the day, the city of Innsbruck where we begin with the orientation tour without wasting any time upon arrival. Settled in the heart of the Austrian Alps, the mountains make for a dramatic backdrop for the city while the pastel-hued houses lining the banks of the green-watered River Inn add to the city's aesthetic beauty. After having taken in our share of the surrounding natural beauty, we continue our tour wandering past The Golden Roof or the Goldenes Dachl- an ornate Gothic balcony erected by Emperor Maximilian I in the 15th century, the Imperial Church and the Hofburg or the Imperial Palace.

We then check-in to the hotel, stuff ourselves with a delicious dinner and hit the bed!

DAY 14    |

Innsbruck - Padova

Though the scenic scenes of Switzerland and Austria aren't something you ever tire of, it's now time to plunge into the world of art and religious history as we make our way into Italy. If you ever fancied time travel, today would be the closest you come to living up to your fantasy as we head for the City of Canals (and also palaces), Venice. With its appearance virtually unchanged for the last 600 years, Venice is more a city out of a typical fairy-tale than a modern-day metropolis.

We check-out of the hotel after breakfast and drive to Tronchetto where we then board a cruise to glide romantically past dreamy palaces, through incredible miniature canals to the Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square), while feasting on a wonderful lunch aboard.

Once at the Square, we visit the Murano Glass Showroom (When Open) to get a glimpse of the glass-blowing process of this iconic ancient Venetian craft that ranges from sculptures to vases to bowls to jewellery. And because these beautiful pieces are so hard to resist, you can even purchase a few collectables. Hereafter, we go on yet another water voyage with the Gondola ride along the Bridge of Sighs that connects the Doge's Palace at the square to its prison.

And we now have some time to explore the Square itself, dubbed as the 'finest drawing room in Europe' by Napoleon, courtesy of the forever carnival-like vibe it gave off. With it being the only public Square in the city, Napoleon's phrase is still an apt description for the Square. We visit the popular St. Mark's Basilica. Standing next to this Byzantine-style basilica is the Gothic-style Doge's Palace. Now a museum, the palace houses some of the finest examples of the ionic Murano glass and also of Venetian art.

We then return to Tronchetto by boat and proceed to an Indian restaurant for dinner before checking in to the hotel in Padova.

DAY 15    |

Padova - Arezzo

No tour of Italy can ever be complete without witnessing the architectural marvel that is The Leaning Tower in Pisa, an iconic Italian monument. So, we kick-start our day with a visit to Pisa's wondrous Square of Miracles with its exemplary Pisan-Romanesque architectural structures- the Baptistery, the Cathedral and the leaning Bell Tower, the characteristic tilt of which is what marks this Square as unique. In between absorbing the magnificence of these architectural wonders, we make time to grab a lovely lunch.

Then, drive through a picturesque stretch of olive groves and vineyards to Florence, a shrine to the wonders of the Renaissance, with more artistic treasures per square meter than any other city in the world. On our guided city tour of Florence, we move on to experience this artistic marvel up-close as we make a photo stop at the world's fourth-largest Cathedral and Florence's tallest building, the Duomo. The magnanimity of its scale juxtaposed with the beauty of its design gives this monument its overwhelming character. Standing beside this is the Florence Baptistery with its iconic 'Gate to Paradise'- a pair of gilded bronze doors that have now become an icon of Renaissance art- and also the open-air gallery in the Signoria Square. Continue this journey to the past wandering by the city's oldest standing bridge, Ponte Vecchio and make a photo stop at the magical Piazzale Michelangelo to get a bird's-eye view of this beautiful city.

Bringing the day to an end, drive across yet another scenic stretch to Arezzo where a delicious dinner awaits us at our hotel and we finally call it a night.

DAY 16    |

Arezzo

There couldn't have been a better way to end our Europe exploration than a city of absolute ancient beauty and a mysterious opulence about it... Rome. After breakfast today, we drive for a day trip of Rome, enjoying the awe-inspiring landscapes and a comfort stop on the way.

Once in Rome, we stuff ourselves with a sumptuous lunch and hereon begins our guided tour of the astounding ancient beauty that is the city of Rome. Be it the drive past the mighty triumphal Arch of Constantine or past the Circus Maxima- the biggest stadium in ancient Rome- or the drive through Piazza Venezia- a busy hub of the city- one can't help but marvel over the sheer grandiose of Roman architecture. Further reminders of the same come our way as we pass by the Colosseum and the ruins of the Roman Forum.

Next, head to the smallest nation in the world that's nestled within the very heart of Rome, The Vatican City. Call it home of the Pope or the Roman Catholic headquarters, the fact remains that you don't really have to be a follower of either to appreciate the enormous beauty that scapes this tiny nation. Living proof of its rich cultural heritage are the monumental tributes to Renaissance art. We visit one of the world's largest churches, St. Peter's Basilica, which houses the tomb of St. Peters under the high altar.

Visit the city's most iconic pieces of art, the Trevi Fountain, which simply put is a dreamy and magical sight. What adds to the ethereal vibe of this magnanimous structure are the great examples of Baroque art- the sea-god Neptune, winged horses and allegorical figures.

Witness the History of Rome, on the Time Elevator Rome. Experience multi-sensory simulated time travel from the birth of Rome to today.

Contended with the day's share of artistic thrills, return to the hotel in Arezzo where a yummy dinner awaits.

Note: Due to Rome city regulations, certain roads may be off limits for long distance coaches. This may result in the Rome sightseeing being done partly by foot / public transport. Sleeveless clothing, shorts, miniskirts and hats / caps are not allowed in the Vatican.

DAY 17    |

Arezzo - Nice

We finally bid farewell to the Italian heritage, the mountain-scapes and cold weathers behind and gear up to embrace the balmy ocean breeze and yacht-punctuated views of the blue waters of the French Rivera. The scenic transition along the route alone can leave you absorbed for hours but we do take periodic comfort stops, including time to chow down our packed lunch, to keep the ride from being too exhausting. Our first stop happens to be the town most known for its international film fest and the associated opulent red carpet, Cannes.

We begin our orientation tour of this Mediterranean beauty by wandering along the beachside promenade, Boulevard de la Croisette, surfing through the Old Town or the Le Suquet, marvelling at the luxurious yacht and sail-boat harboured Vieux Port and reveling in the overall relaxed vibe of the town.

We curb our hunger with a yummy Indian dinner and head to our hotel in Nice.

DAY 18    |

Nice

Today, we are about to make a visit to yet another beach beauty of the French Rivera, the principality of Monaco.

After breakfast, head for this tiny yet utterly beautiful city which is marked by its air of royalty and opulence. Despite its size of merely two square kilometres (approx.), the town has a surprisingly high number of things to witness. So, there are the architectural monuments like the Roman-Byzantine-style Cathedral or the Palais du Prince (home of the royal Grimaldi family that's situated high above the sea level giving picturesque views of the town below) or the world's first aquarium, Musee Oceanographique. Then there is the beauty of the mighty bright blue sea that makes for a dramatic backdrop for the town. And lastly, there is the iconic district of Monte Carlo, the most glamorous district of the town with its luxurious casino complex, haute couture boutiques and ostentatious restaurants and clubs.

After a few hours of meandering around town, we step into an Indian restaurant for lunch before hitting the road again for Eze Village, a beautiful medieval village marked by narrow streets, arches, stone houses and ancient fountains. Another major attraction here is the Fragonard Perfumery which we shall visit to learn about the ancient art of perfume-making, revelling in the beautiful scents arising from antique bottles, creating a unique blend for ourselves. The visit truly is a heavenly experience for all our senses.

We then head back to Nice, the French city with a striking Italian vibe to it, especially visible in the cobblestoned streets of the Old Town. Here, we have some leisure time on hand to stroll along the Promenade des Anglais before we drop by the restaurant for dinner.

Then, return to the hotel to give our bodies some much-deserved rest.

DAY 19    |

Homeward Bound

It's just a matter of hours now!

After breakfast, we wave goodbye to our hotel and head to Milan, Italy, driving along the final stretch of gorgeous natural scapes. And because we got no time to waste, we quickly stuff ourselves with a delectable lunch and start the orientation tour of this international fashion capital. Pretty much like any other Italian town, Milan has its share of influential history and a rich cultural and architectural heritage. The most iconic structure in town that exemplifies both the historic and cultural aspects of the town is that of the Cathedral or the Duomo di Milan. One of the largest and most complex Gothic buildings in Italy and the fifth largest Christian Church in the world, the Duomo is undoubtedly the most impressive monument in Milan. We spend some time here to explore this magnificent structure in all its artistic beauty.

And though it may seem sooner than expected, it's now time to hit the road to the airport where we finally board our flight back home reminiscing the wonderful memories of the holiday.

Please do give us your valuable feedback on feedback@coxandkings.com.

Note: This tour may run with an altered flow due to operational constraints.

DAY 02    |
London

Well rested, refreshed and full of a wholesome breakfast as we are, we begin our day with our guided city tour of London absorbing in the magnificence of great architectural icons such as the Trafalgar Square, the Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the Westminster Abbey, the Buckingham Palace (also witnessing the Change of Guard ceremony at the palace depending on operational technicalities), the London Bridge and the Tower Bridge among others. Later, head to an Indian restaurant for an appetizing lunch.

We move on to learn about the bloody history of this modern capital as we make our way to the Tower of London. Beefeaters, ravens, crown jewels and horror tales- this UNESCO World Heritage Site has something to keep everyone entertained. Don't miss the famous Koh-i-Noor diamond.

Next embark on a highly star-studded note as we gear up to rub shoulders with more than 300 life-like wax statues of our favourite celebrities at Madame Tussauds wax museum. From having a cup of tea with Her Majesty the Queen to walking down the red carpet with Hollywood bigwigs to striking a pose with Bollywood superstars, the museum has everything to make you feel like a star.

After this fun-filled meet-and-greet with celebrities, contended with the day's expedition, head back to the hotel after a satisfying dinner.

DAY 03    |
London - Ferry embarkation

After enjoying yet another meal on water, aka, a lavish breakfast, check-out of the ferry, clear immigration and head straight to our first sightseeing spot of the day? the very beautiful Keukenhof Garden in Lisse.

Alternatively, in months when the Keukenhof Garden is off limits, make a visit to another equally beautiful yet strikingly unique park? the Madurodam Miniature Park.

DAY 05    |
Eindhoven - Brussels

After breakfast, bid adieu to The Netherlands and embrace ourselves to be inspired by the scenic natural scapes and cityscapes of Germany. First stop: Cologne! Here, head straight for the building that dominates the skyline of this German Town? the Cologne Cathedral, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Soon after breakfast, proceed to board the TGV Lyria high-speed train to Geneva.

On arrival, an exclusive entertainment is lined up for you.

Today, after breakfast, we wave goodbye to Switzerland and take our expedition further to yet another country that's effortlessly balanced between architectural marvels and natural landscapes? Austria.
