The forest is divided in two parimary zones – Tadoba National Park and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. Both these areas share the common flora and fauna. This thick dry deciduous forest is the home to Bangal Tigers, Indian Leopards, Gaur, Sloth Bears, Nilgai, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Chital and many other animals. The adjoining Tadoba Lake is any ornithologist's paradise because of its rich avian populations.
Tadoba Lake: Tadoba Lake is a situated in the middle of the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve area. It offers sprawling habitat to more than 200 species of birds. Near the lake, you can spot flocks of oriental honey and white-eyed buzzard, Indian Pitta, Indian roller, paradise flycatcher along with many other local birds. This lake acts as a buffering zone between the forest and farmland.
Sevagram: Sevagram is a short distance travel from Tadoba National Park. This small village got its fame after Mahatma Gandhi erected an ashram in the outskirt of the village. Seth Jamnalal Bajaj, a follower of Mahata Gandhi, donated 300 acres of land to establish the ashram. It started with few villagers and gradually became a weapon to empower the locals through self-employment. It is the place where Gandhiji started his fight against caste system by employing some Harijans in the common kitchen. The ashram is still very much functional and a visit to this ashram shows the influence of simple living on your mind.
