Kunzum Pass: Kunzum is the highest mountain pass located on the eastern Kunzum Range. Kunzum Pass in Chinese is called as Kunzum La. This mountain pass stands tall at an elevation of approximately 4,590 meter above mean sea level. This pass connects Kullu and Lahaul Valley with the Spiti Valley and can be reached from the side of Kaza. A trek of 9 kilometer from Kaza will take you to the Moon Lake of the Chandratal which is about 7 kilometer away from Kunzum Pass. At top of the valley, you can see the charming view of snow-cladded peaks of Chandra Bhaga Range.
Key Monastery: Spiti Valley is the home to some of the oldest monasteries in the world. Key Monastery is one of them. When staying at Spiti Valley, even if you are not a strong believer in religion, you should visit this Tibetan Buddhists monastery because of its exquisitely beautiful surrounding. The gompa was founded in 11th century. Walls of the monastery are covered with the Mural paintings which reflect the 14th century monastic architecture, heavily infused with Chinese ideas. Inside the gompa, there are idols of Buddha in Dhyana position. Grand collection of ancient books at the monastery will surely surprise you.
Suraj Tal Lake: Suraj Tal Lake of Spiti Valley is a natural splendour lying in the midst of Lahaul and Spiti district. This lake is located at an elevation of 4950 meters above the mean sea level. It is the third highest lake in India and 21st highest lake in the world. Suraj Tal has the literal meaning of Sun Lake. The lake is believed to be blessed by the Sun God and a single dip in the crystal blue water of the lake can wash away all your sins and evils. If you are in photography, then you can't miss this stunning visual of rugged hills and transparent blue water for some picture-perfect shots.
