In the evening, proceed towards Cellular Jail. This jail is a symbol of undaunted spirit, a mute witness to the untold sufferings and the valiant defiance of the Indian freedom fighters. It represents an irony, where the price of the freedom of a nation is the captivity of a few warriors. Anyone visiting the cellular jail cannot leave without catching the sound and light show. It’s a beautifully created one hour show that sheds light on the history of the prison in both music and dialogue form and takes one back into the bygone era another spot definitely worth a visit is the Watchtower which was built at the centre of all 7 wings with an intention to give the guards all round view of all the inmates. Now one would be able to catch a splendid view from the top, especially of the North Bay lighthouse. Post sightseeing return to the hotel.
