Nepal Himalayan KingdomFew places possess such a concentration of culture, art and tradition as the Kathmandu Valley, rightly regarded as the cradle of Nepalese civilisation. An open air museum of famous sites, ancient temples and shrines, golden pagodas and awe inspiring deities; it is a city of inexhaustible historic, artistic and cultural interest. Steeped in the atmosphere of the middle ages, where to wander past the temples, buddhist stupas and holy shrines, through narrow lanes bustling with activity, is to step back into another age.
Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu
Welcome to Kathmandu! Transfer to your hotel where you will experience Nepalese hospitality as you are accorded a special welcome of flowers by Pancha Kanyas (five virgin girls) dressed in traditional Nepalese costumes representing the various zones of Nepal. In the evening, we recommend you participate in the ‘Adventure Theme’.

Day 2: Kathmandu
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast followed by a guided tour of the ancient city of Kathmandu with its many beautiful temples and courtyards. Visit the Hanuman Dhoka (Hanuman Gate) which takes its name from the Monkey God, Hanuman from the epic Ramayana; Kumari Bahal, the house of the Living Goddess Kumari; Kasthamandap, a temple built from the wood of a single tree from where Kathmandu city derived its name and finally the Swayambhunath Stupa. Continue on a visit to the city of Patan where the central Durbar square is perhaps the most impressive in the country. In the evening, you have the option of experiencing the fun and thrill of a ‘Nepalese Village Market Theme’.

Day 3: Kathmandu
After breakfast, proceed on a tour of the Pashupatinath Temple, the holiest Hindu pilgrimage destination in Nepal and Boudhnath Stupa, the largest stupa in the valley. In the afternoon, visit the medieval city of Bhaktapur or the ‘city of devotees’, which was the setting for the Hollywood production ‘The Little Buddha’ followed by a visit to the National Art Gallery and the Golden Gate. For a very special experience tonight, you have the option of participating in a ‘Nepalese Royal Theme’.

Day 4: Colombo
Bid farewell, as your magical journey comes to an end. Drive to the airport for your onward flight back home.
