Seoul
Seoul is the bustling capital city of Korea where the old and the sparkling new coexist gloriously. Seoul was reduced to rubble in the Korean war (1950- 53) and has risen from the ashes more magnificent than before. It boasts of museums, parks, a vibrant nightlife, jazz bars, casinos, 24 hour shopping malls, a stunning stream that runs through the heart of the city and is the favorite hangout of the city’s denizens.

Attractions in Seoul
  • Gyeongbokgung Palace: Is a 40 acre palace complex that is over 600 years old. It is the grandest and one of the most impressive among the royal palaces in Seoul.





  • Changdeokgung Palace and the Secret Garden: This palace is a designated World Heritage site and was the seat of power for the Joseon dynasty for generations. It is famous for the pristine Secret Garden with its 300 year old tree which was a refuge for the Joseon royalty.




  • Namsangol Hanok Village: A restored traditional Korean village in the heart of Seoul allow you a peek into Korean history and culture. This village has 3 parts: a traditional Korean Garden, a Time Capsule plaza, and the village itself made up of traditional Korean houses called Hanoks.




  • Museums: National Folk Museum of Korea, National Palace Museum of Korea, War Memorial of Korea.






  • Mt. Namsan: 265m above sea level, Mt. Namsan is a symbolic mountain located in the center of Seoul. At the top of Mt. Namsan are the Palgakjeong Pavilion, Seoul Tower, and a marine aquarium, and on the way up are the Namsan Library, fountain, and botanical garden. The summit can be reached by taking the hiking trail or by riding a cable car. A breathtaking view of Seoul can be had at the Palgakjeong Pavilion, and tourists who climb the Seoul Tower (479.7m above sea level) are rewarded further with a view that reaches as far as the sea at Incheon's harbor.


  • Everland: Located in the outskirts of Seoul, Everland is the largest theme park in Korea, and ranked no.10 in a listing of the best theme parks in the world by the Theme Entertainment Association. It came in as Asia-Pacific's 4th best theme park.  The park contains three distinct themes which are Festival World, Caribbean Bay, and Speedway.



  • Lotte World: Lotte World is a world-class indoor theme park that stands alongside the Lotte Hotel and Lotte Department Store, creating a complete resort-type feel. It came in at No.15 worldwide and at No. 5 in Asia in a study of the best theme parks in the world. Lotte World is divided into two areas - 'Adventure,' which is the indoor area of the park, and 'Magic Island,' its outdoor counterpart.



  • Shopping : Shopping tops the list of activities of most visitors to Seoul, and with good reason. The variety and scale of shopping available in Seoul is mind boggling to say the least. Check the “Shopping” section in this microsite to get the best places to shop in while in Seoul.
