Cox & Kings bags Best Domestic Tour Operator Award for the second year 27th, March 2006
Cox & Kings has done it again. For the second year running, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has adjudged Cox & Kings, the oldest travel company in the world, the Best Domestic Tour Operator for the year 2004-05.
The recognition by the Union government is a confirmation of our strength in promoting domestic destinations to the new Indian domestic traveler who is equipped to make informed decisions.
On receiving the award, Peter Kerkar, Group CEO, Cox & Kings said, ``While we thank the government in recognizing our efforts, we also owe this to the thousands of Indians who traveled with us.’’
Tracing its foray in the domestic market, Kerkar said, ``in 1999, when we entered the domestic holiday market it was growing at 35 per cent year-on-year but it was crowded by unorganized players. Our entry gave the Indian traveler the opportunity to book with a reputed company that was reliable and trustworthy. The number of customers who book with us has gone up exponentially with each passing year.’’
Cox & Kings promotes domestic destinations under its Bharat Deko brand, which is known for its service standards, and imaginative packaging to make the overall holiday experience a memorable one.
