Best time to visit Sikkim
In the peak summers, temperature can be soaring in the valleys. The weather fluctuates with altitude and varies from the low valley to polar like surroundings of everlasting snow and ice in the elevated areas. Sikkim one of those states in India that receive regular snowfall. Owing to intense altitude you can find tremendous discrepancy in climate and vegetation of Sikkim.
Ways to explore: There are no airports or railway station in Sikkim. The only way to enter Sikkim from rest of the India is by road using bus or jeep from West Bengal. It takes around 5 hrs from Bagdogra by road in bus, or via cabs.
Nearest airport for Sikkim is Bagdogra near Siliguri in Nort Bengal, which is 124 km and approximately four hours drive from Gangtok.
Being a mountain state, it doesn't have railway station and is not mentioned on the rail map. The only station nearest is the station at new Jalpaiguri in West Bengal which is around 125 km from Gangtok the capital. Buses, cabs, taxis, take you from the station to the capital in approx 5 hrs.
