It is situated on the north eastern side of Assam, between the eastern hill flanks of the Himalayan ranges. The God of Love, Kamrup is believed to be borne in Guwahati. One of the important shrines among the tantric shrines of Shakti is the Kamakhya. Guwahati includes heritage sites, ancient temples, museums, historical monuments, archaeological sites, lakes and ponds.

Arrive Guwahati * On to Shillong (100 kms / Approx 3 hrs)

Welcome to your 'The Mighty Plunges -Nohkalikai Falls' tour!

On arrival at airport in Guwahati / railway stationyou will be transferred to the hotel in Shillong often known as the 'Scotland of the East'. Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills.

On arrival at Shillong, check-in to your hotel.

Overnight in Shillong (D)

Excursion to Cherrapunjee (60 kms / Approx 2 hrs)

After early breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world where you will see the beautiful waterfall known as Nohkalikai. At Nohkalikai Falls you can enjoy the sight of water falling from 1,100 feet through the green forest. Trek through some of the amazing terrain and watch a great variety of birds You can also explore the caves known as Mawsmai.

Later in the evening return to Shillong, enroute visiting the Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views.

Excursion to Mawlynnong (90 kms / Approx 3 hrs)

After early breakfast drive to Mawlynnong - 'Asia's Cleanest Village'.

Mwallynnong village of Meghalaya, also referred as 'God's own garden', has won the accolade of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003, and is 100% literate. The village is located amidst picturesque surroundings. You can take a trek to the unique living root bridge at a neighboring village Riwai. Another famous spot in Mawlynnong village is where you see a huge boulder balancing on a small rock without tumbling. The village also offers breathtaking view of the plains of Bangladesh.

This day is dedicated to taking in the sights and sounds of Shillong, situated on a plateau surrounded by the Khasi Hills. Some of the places you can expect to visit are Ward's Lake, with gardens and boating, the Botanical Garden with a plethora of indigenous and exotic plants and a rare collection of orchids, and Lady Hydari Park, a Japanese-style landscaped park. The Mini Zoo adjacent to the park has 73 birds, 140 reptiles and mammals. Shillong has one of the largest natural golf courses in Asia, and one of its prettiest. The 18-hole course is located amidst a valley full of pine groves and rhododendron trees. Later visit The StateMuseum that has artefacts on the people of Meghalaya.

The evening is free for personal activities.

After breakfast drive to Guwahati. On Arrival check-in to your hotel.

In the evening visit 'Kalakshetra', a place where Assamese history and culture is presented through Light and sound show.

Later return to hotel.

After breakfast out to visit Kamakhya Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple, Nabagraha Temple, Assam State Museum, State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Regional Science Centre and Sukreswar Temple (The 6th Jyotirlinga of Shiva).

This afternoon you can enjoy an optional tour of the Golden sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra (On direct payment basis).
